Louis van Gaal can buy a small country with the money he’s spending on transfers this season. Will Thomas Muller be the next blockbuster signing at Old Trafford?
Man United boss Louis van Gaal has a fondness for Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, and it’s inspired him to make a massive deal to secure his transfer.
According to the Metro, Man United have offered Bayern Munich a whopping £69.6 million bid for the Bundesliga champions’ star striker. The bid is more than £12 million more than what it was reported to be just last week, when Man United were believed to be putting forward a £57 million bid for Muller.
The 25-year-old striker has also been sensational for the German national team, recording six goals in Germany’s run to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final.
Muller, who incidentally received his big break when LVG was the manager of Bayern Munich, is coming off yet another strong year with his 3rd straight season with 13 league goals and 20+ total goals.
Louis van Gaal no doubt wants another one of his prized pupils to replace the recently-sold Robin van Persie, who signed with Galatasaray earlier this month.
