Sergio Romero – 6/10
Didn’t have to work very hard to earn his third Premier League clean sheet in a row. In fact, he didn’t need to make a single save, although he watched on nervously as Aleksandar Mitrovic smashed an effort off the woodwork in the first half.
Matteo Darmian – 7/10
Solid at the back, but the most impressive aspect of Darmain’s performance was his passing. He attempted 42 passes with a 95.2% success rate. He came off on 76 minutes as LVG brought on Antonio Valencia to give United more attacking power.
Daley Blind – 8/10
Another fine display at centre-back from the natural midfielder, who made nine clearances to help keep Romero’s sheet clean.
Chris Smalling – 8/10
Barely made a tackle because his positioning was so good. Smalling made two excellent interceptions and almost scored a late winner, but his header struck the post.
