Manchester United return to the Champions League after a 12-month absence on Tuesday evening as they host Club Brugge in the first leg of their third-round qualifier.
Will manager Louis van Gaal stick with the winning formula that has gotten the Red Devils off to a 100% start in the Premier League, or risk rotating his squad?
Here, fanatix predicts how United will line up at Old Trafford…
GK: Sergio Romero
David de Gea is in the squad but unlikely to feature as speculation continues to surround his future. Rookie Sam Johnstone has been on the bench for United’s opening two Premier League games, but now is not the time for Van Gaal to take risks, so the experienced Romero is likely to maintain his place.
RB: Matteo Darmian
Although Antonio Valencia is still waiting for his first outing of the season, Van Gaal may want to keep the same back four intact after successive clean sheets in which Darmian has been pretty impressive.
CB: Chris Smalling
Van Gaal simply cannot afford to rest the England international, who is quickly become United’s defensive leader, especially while Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo remain sidelined by injury.
CB: Daley Blind
Blind has done really well having been asked to drop into defence for the start of the season. He was man of the match in the victory over Villa and should be even more comfortable in continental competition.
LB: Luke Shaw
The 20-year-old is determined to bounce back from a disappointing debut season at Old Trafford and will provide United with some width down the left, as the more advanced midfielder drifts inside.
