A decent first campaign. It took a while for the Spaniard to earn Louis van Gaal’s trust but since then has become a vital man in the centre of United’s attack.
LM: Angel Di Maria
A strange season for Di Maria who started so brightly but ultimately failed to live up to his British record fee.
With a full pre-season under his belt and integration into the English and Manchester United life perhaps he can return to the world class player we know he is; the question remains, however, if he or Manchester United will provide this chance or if both will seek a quick exit this summer.
CF: Wayne Rooney
Looks likely to recover from the dead leg that kept him out against Arsenal last week.
A welcome return but one that highlights how poor a season it’s been for the Red Devils up front with Rooney there only viable option at centre forward as van Persie and Falcao have failed to flourish.
Will need serious improvements in this department in the summer.
