Manchester United are keen on making a move to sign Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson, according to reports.
The Red Devils missed out on Spanish winger Pedro after Chelsea sealed a £22m deal for the Barcelona man last week, and ESPNFC reports Louis van Gaal has turned his attention back to the Brazilian.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Southampton winger Sadio Mane, but the Saints are believed to be desperate to hold onto the Senegalese international and are not willing to sell.
Anderson is regarded as being one of European football’s hottest young talents and his signing would come as a huge boost to United’s title chances.
Lazio are understood to be keen to reluctant to sell the 22-year-old after his 10 goals and seven assists last season helped the Serie A giants snare a Champions League play-off spot.
According to the report, Anderson will still be eligible to play for United in the Champions League proper despite featuring for Lazio in the first leg of its play-off tie against Bayer Leverkusen last week.
Soccerlens reports Anderson to be valued at around £36.5m.
