Manchester United is reportedly keen on signing Valencia star Center Back Nicolas Otamendi, but will have to pony up around £35 million to complete the transfer.
According to the Metro, Otamendi is seeking a move to England but Valencia won’t let the 27-year-old defender leave on his terms and without a lot of money being left on their table.
In his first full season with Valencia after being sold by Porto in 2014, Otamendi recorded a career-high six league goals for La Liga. On January 4, 2015, Otamendi famously scored the game-winning header in a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid to snap the club’s 22-match undefeated streak.
With Man United struggling on the defense after falling into a distant 4th on the Premier League table, a defender like Otamendi might be exactly what Louis van Gaal needs to eke out those crucial last few matches.
