Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, and reports emerged earlier in the week that the Spanish international had told Real Madrid officials of his desire to leave the club.
According to The Sun however, Real Madrid are preparing to offer the 29-year-old a 200k-a-week deal that would put him alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on the club’s pay scale.
It is believed Manchester United had a £32m bid for Ramos rejected by Real Madrid, however the Red Devils are prepared to match the La Liga giants’ wage offer.
Real Madrid are understood to be desperate to sign United shot-stopper David de Gea, and it is believed the two deals will merge at some stage and a compromise will be found.
According to The Mirror, United will not lower its asking price for De Gea and are demanding Real Madrid pay £35m for the 24-year-old shot-stopper.
