Manchester United and Real Madrid could be poised for another transfer tussle this summer after the Spanish club apparently entered the race for Lazio’s Lucas Biglia.
The two European giants are already at loggerheads over the futures of United goalkeeper David de Gea and Real defender Sergio Ramos.
And now they appear poised to go head-to-head for the signature of Biglia, who has been tipped as a target for Louis van Gaal as the Dutchman looks to provide cover and competition for Michael Carrick.

But midfield reinforcements are also on Real’s agenda – their shortage in this area was exposed during Luka Modric’s injury layoff last season – and the Daily Express claims that Rafael Benitez has sanctioned a £15.6m bid for the Argentine.
Biglia, 29, has made 60 appearances for Lazio since joining from Anderlecht in 2013, scoring six goals.
