The Red Devils may not receive the player they want for Di Maria, but at least they’ll cover some of their losses. Is he the biggest Man United flop of all-time?
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain appear poised to make the winning bid for Man United mega flop Angel Di Maria – but the club will NOT give up their star striker to complete the deal.
According to the Telegraph, PSG are expected to make a bid of £40 million for the Man United midfielder – a bid which will not include Edinson Cavani as part of it. Cavani led the team in total goals with 31 last season and finished second in league goals to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the club secured their third straight Ligue 1 title.
The French outfit fell short in Man United’s ultimately successful record-setting £59.7 million bid for Di Maria last year but their interest in the 27-year-old Argentinian star has not. Despite shelling out a record-setting sum for Di Maria, the midfield star failed to make an impact after scoring 3 goals in the first few games of last season.
The Telegraph reported that PSG are more than happy to walk away from a deal if Man United demand too much for Di Maria.
