According to Tuttomercatoweb [via Metro], Real Madrid have lined up a replacement for Ramos in Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.
Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent days and it seems Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez is planning for life without the 29-year-old.
The Spaniard’s possible departure from the Bernabeu has also triggered the interest of United’s crosstown rivals Manchester City, with The Mirror reporting the cashed-up Premier League giants could make a move for the wantaway defender.
Real Madrid are believed to be desperate to hold onto Ramos, however the player is reportedly unhappy with the club after it allowed him to run into his final two years of his contract without being offered a new deal.
Bonucci would be a solid enough replacement for Ramos after showing his quality both in the Serie A and Champions League last season.
