Manchester United have received a blow in its chase for Everton defender Seamus Coleman, with the Toffees reportedly not willing to sell the player.

The Republic of Ireland international has starred for Everton since joining from Sligo Rovers for just £60,000 in 2009, and Sky Sports on Sunday reported Manchester United were interested in signing the 26-year-old.
It is believed United are yet to put forward a formal offer to Everton, and it seems Red Devils bosses will have to dig into the Old Trafford coffers if they are to have any chance of luring Coleman away from Goodison Park.
According to Liverpool Echo, Everton have no desire to sell the right-back with Roberto Martinez keen to hold onto one of his most prized assets.
Coleman is contracted to Everton until 2019 and United would have to come up with a staggering offer to cause a change of mind at Goodison Park.
United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to bolster his side’s back third as the Red Devils look to make a push for the Premier League title next season.
Coleman is equally adept as an orthodox right-back as he is as a wing-back and would fit seamlessly into van Gaal’s system.
