Despite a deal with Romero, Man United are still eager to make Hugo Lloris their De Gea replacement. Can they seal a deal for the Tottenham star before next weekend?
Man United are keen on bringing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Old Trafford, but numerous obstacles – not the least of which is his club Tottenham Hotspur – have stood in their way. But a recent move by a Ligue 1 giant could have opened the door for the Red Devils to get their De Gea replacement.
According to the Metro, Paris Saint-Germain’s recent decision to allow Salvatore Sirigu to leave France and pursue a new team is a huge boon for the Red Devils.
The Metro noted that Sirigu is a serious target for Tottenham as a replacement for Lloris. Should Sirigu sign with the Spurs, it’ll make a transfer of Lloris to Man United a quick and easy proposition. Sirigu is a two-time Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year and has been a rock for PSG, making 142 league appearances over the last four years.
Real Madrid are reportedly close to a transfer deal for disgruntled stopper David de Gea, which has made the Old Trafford outfit’s pursuit of Lloris even more critical with the Premier League season just a few days away.
