The France international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as a potential replacement for David de Gea, who is expected to join La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.
According to Daily Star however, United boss Louis van Gaal has decided against a move for £30m-rated Lloris and will back Victor Valdes to be the club’s first-choice shot-stopper next season.
Valdes signed with Manchester United in January but had the wait until United’s penultimate match of the season to get his debut after De Gea suffered an injury against Arsenal.
He then made his full debut against Hull City on the final day of the Premier League season and kept a clean sheet after making a number of crucial saves.
Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen and Inter Milan star Samir Handanovic have also been linked to a move to Old Trafford, but it now seems van Gaal is keen to instill Valdes as his number one in between the sticks.
