Man United’s ‘secret’ transfer target has been revealed as Juventus striker Fernando Llorente, according to reports.
The Spanish international struggled for first team action with the Serie A champions last season after dropping behind Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez in the pecking order under manager Max Allegri.
According to The Mirror, Juventus have “offered” the Athletic Bilbao to the Red Devils and Louis van Gaal has been asked to be “kept informed” of the player’s situation.
The move for Llorente comes as Angel di Maria edges closer to a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Daily Express reports PSG officials are said to have held transfer talks with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward on Monday.
Van Gaal is looking to strengthen in the front third following the departures of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie and it seems he has turned his full attention to signing Llorente.
Llorente has scored 23 Serie A goals in 65 appearances since joining the club in 2013.
