United had tried to sign Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich.
Manchester United have made an offer of £45 million to sign World Cup winning forward Thomas Muller from German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, report the Metro, but Pep Guardiola’s side swiftly rejected the offer for one of their key players.

Four Arsenal transfers that look imminent
Muller has been one of the key men in Bayern’s rise to being one of the most impressive teams on the continent over the last five years – and the Allianz Arena club have no intention of allowing the former World Cup Golden Boot winner to move on.
United are said to be in the market for another forward as it has become less and less likely that Radamel Falcao’s loan move at Old Trafford would be made permanent at the end of the season, potentially leaving a void for a top class forward in Louis van Gaal’s squad.
