The Bavarian giants claimed the Bundesliga title again this season, but a defeat in the Champions League semi-finals has put pressure on Pep Guardiola to produce the goods next term.
Guardiola is expected to make big changes at Bayern next season, and Metro reports that United have made ‘concrete’ bids for Schweinsteiger and Dante.
United boss Louis van Gaal has announced his intentions to bolster his squad ahead of a charge at the Premier League title next season, and Schweinsteiger would be a superb addition to the side in a deep-lying midfield role.
Dante could also help shore up United’s defence, with van Gaal failing to settle on a consistent centre-back partnership this season.
30-year-old Schweinsteiger has played his entire career at Bayern, and it remains to be seen whether he wants to remain a one-club player or choose to make a move to the Premier League.
