Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is closing in on a move to Real Madrid, reports suggest.
De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu this summer, however, the two clubs have yet to come to an agreement with the La Liga giants baulking at United’s £35m asking price.
According to The Mirror, a deal could be struck on Monday with Real Madrid now willing to table a bid just shy of £30m.
De Gea’s agent Jorge Mendes is understood to be confident that a deal will be struck before the closure of the summer transfer window, bringing an end to the off-season’s longest-running transfer saga.
The 24-year-old comes out of contract at the end of the season, and the Red Devils risk missing out on a big transfer fee should they not sell the Spaniard this summer.
De Gea has starred for Manchester United since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has made 131 Premier League appearances for the club.
