The 25-year-old defender was a part of three Premier League championship teams in his time with Man United.
The Brazilian international’s playing time became limited after their most recent title win in the 2012-13 season.
He only made 10 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season, and he only started six of those games.
The Red Devils have considered him surplus to requirements, which they implied by signing former Torino defender Matteo Darmian.
