Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea will sack super agent Jorge Mendes should he not get his desired move to Real Madrid, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is believed to be desperate for a move back to Spain, however, United are digging their heels in and will not allow him to leave unless Real Madrid match its reported £35m asking price.
Real Madrid are understood to be willing to stump up £25m, but United are holding out for a bigger offer.
Louis van Gaal is playing a dangerous game as De Gea will become a free agent at the end of the season and could sign for Real Madrid without United receiving a large transfer sum for a goalkeeper of his ability.
According to El Confidencial [via Metro], De Gea is ready to sack Mendes should the Spanish international not pen a deal to move to the Bernabeu.
The report suggests that De Gea signed Mendes last year primarily to help him get a move to the La Liga heavyweighs.
Mendes also works with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and helped broker a deal between United and PSG over the transfer of Angel di Maria.
