It is also suggested that Everton, Tottenham, Marseille and Valencia are all monitoring his situation, as the 20-year-old is in demand.
His departure will come as a surprise to some considering that he has featured for Louis Van Gaal on numerous occasions so far this season, including his match-winning display against Aston Villa.
While United are already light in attacking options, it seems like a strange move to allow him to leave, but Van Gaal arguably has something lined up to make up for his absence.
Nevertheless, that will mean more pressure on Memphis Depay to produce, while the likes of Juan Mata and Ashley Young will undoubtedly receive more playing time.
