Manchester United’s pursuit of a new defender hit yet another snag after Torino rejected the club’s bid for right back Matteo Darmian.
According to the Express, the Serie A outfit turned down Man United’s £10.5 million bid for Darmian since the number was below the £14 million the club was seeking for their star defender.
The Express reported that Darmian is viewed as Man United’s potential alternate transfer in case the club is unable to get Real Madrid superstar defender Sergio Ramos out of La Liga.
Darmian has spent the last four seasons of his career with the Serie A club, who finished in ninth place in the 2014-15 standings. The Italian international showed moderate scoring ability for Torino last season, as he made two goals after going two seasons without one.
