After giving Dortmund everything they could handle this past week, Rafik Zekhnini’s stock has skyrocketed.
Man United may have missed out the winger they wanted the most, but a new option has emerged in Norway with Rafik Zekhnini absolutely tearing up the Champions League.
According to the Metro, Man United are paying close attention to Odds BK teenager Rafik Zekhnini after he recorded an assist and otherwise terrorized Borussia Dortmund in a 4-3 defeat during the 1st leg of Champions League playoff round.
VG reported that Odds are anticipating a bid from the Old Trafford outfit by September 1st.
Though Borussia Dortmund are also believed to be interested in the 17-year-old Norwegian star, Man United have a huge leg up based on comments Zekhnini previously made about his interest in playing for the Red Devils.
“I don’t know where I will be in five years’ time,” Zekhnini said. “I will give my best every day. Manchester United is the biggest dream.”
Man United were expected to land Barcelona superstar Pedro, but the higher-ups pulled a plug on the deal and allowed Chelsea to swoop in and grab the 28-year-old winger.
