Sneijder was reportedly close to agreeing terms with Italian giants Juve, while United were hot on their trail to capture the Netherlands international.
At 30, he had a £15m release clause installed in his contract, which both United and Juve wanted to take advantage of this month.
But the two giants are now set to be frustrated in their respective pursuits until the summer at least after agent Guido Albers confirmed the midfielder will stay in Turkey.
“The board said that they will only accept the buy-out clause which is €20m, and Juventus won’t pay it,” Albers said.
“And I don’t think any club in the world would pay this money.
“We had a meeting with Galatasaray’s board today. We talked about Juventus’ offer.
“They said they don’t want to sell Sneijder. Sneijder has 18 months left on his contract with Galatasaray and he is happy in Istanbul.
“He definitely wants to stay at Galatasaray. I hope they will be champions this season.”
