While United’s interest in the pair has been questioned, there is no doubt that the Dutchman is looking to improve his squad where possible.
With the list of targets shortening each day, it has led to speculation over a mega-money move for Muller resurfacing that could see the Premier League giants splash out up to €100m in fees and wages.
However, the German international thinks it is crazy that the amount of money being talked about would be spent on him.
“It’s basically crazy the numbers which are currently kicking around in football – that’s just business,” Muller told German broadcaster Sport1.
It remains to be seen whether or not he would be interested in a switch to Old Trafford, as he has previously insisted that he is happy in Bavaria.
Nevertheless, a reunion with Van Gaal and Bastian Schweinsteiger could be an appealing option, and it could see Bayern accept a sizeable offer that’s too good to turn down in the final week or so of the transfer window.
