Manchester United will complete the signing of Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia in the coming days, according to reports.
Biglia has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, and despite interest from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco, Le10Sport reports that United have made a £17.7m bid for the Argentine international.
According to the French report, Biglia has agreed a £2.5-a-season four-year deal with the Red Devils and will reportedly join what is an already packed midfield.
Having already secured defensive midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin during the summer, the signing of Biglia is somewhat staggering considering United’s depth in the position.
At 29 years of age, Biglia is not a player for the future and will offer very little re-sale value, however, there is no doubting his current qualities.
Biglia has starred for the Stadio Olimpico based club since joining in 2013.
The midfielder has played in 53 Serie A matches and played a starring role last season as the Biancocelesti grabbed a Champions League play-off spot with a third-placed finish.
Lazio were understood to be keen to hold onto the 29-year-old, but will now sell the player to United and will attempt to sign Genk ace Sergei Milinkovic for £9m.
