Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal for Barcelona winger Pedro, according to The Metro.
The Red Devils are expected to seal the deal for Pedro by next week by paying his £22m release clause.
United will not make anything official until after Barcelona’s UEFA Super Cup match.
Finalising the fee is all that stands in the way of the Spanish international coming to Old Trafford. The 27-year-old winger will instantly receive an opportunity for more playing time.
Despite his talent, Pedro was unable to overcome a world-class forward line consisting of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
Pedro represents a clear upgrade in Louis van Gaal’s attack though, as he managed 11 goals despite reduced playing time last season.
He has notched at least 10 goals in each of his last six seasons for Barcelona, so he will make an ideal scoring complement to striker Wayne Rooney.
