The 25-year-old currently earns around £65,000 per week while his contract is set to expire next summer. However, after failing to successfully nail down his spot in the starting line-up, it appears as though his time at the club is running out.
Injuries and a lack of form have consistently been issues for the Brazilian, but boss Louis Van Gaal undoubtedly had a lack of trust in him as he used Antonio Valencia as a right-back at times last season.
Coupled with the expected arrival of Matteo Darmian from Torino, Rafael is seemingly being deemed surplus to requirements.
According to the Guardian, it is reported that Galatasaray are closing on signing him, and it would mean yet another Premier League star making the move to Turkey this summer.
Nani and Robin Van Persie are expected to enjoy a reunion at Fenerbahce, while Rafael will join Lukas Podolski at their bitter city rivals following his move from Arsenal earlier this month.
