Manchester United look set to miss out on Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel, with Juventus reportedly set to complete a deal for the Belgian international.
Witsel has been linked with a move to Manchester United, however, The Daily Mail reports the former Benfica man is closing in on a £22m move to Juventus.
The Serie A giants are reportedly hoping the 26-year-old will fill the void left by Arturo Vidal, with the Chilean making the move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
Witsel is understood to have two years remaining on his current deal with Zenit, but it is understood he has no intentions of signing a new deal with the Russian outfit and prefers a move to Italy.
Zenit will likely look to cash in on Witsel after signing the midfielder in 2012 for around £29m.
Witsel played a starring role in helping Zenit win the Russian Premier League last season for just the fifth time in its history.
