Manchester United are reportedly preparing to go after Barcelona winger Adama Traore.
According to The Metro, United are prepared to pay Traore’s £10.6m release clause to seal the deal after having their scouts observe him closely.
The 19-year-old forward has also been pursued by Manchester City, but the Red Devils are in pole position to sign him.
The Spanish youth international has no experience playing with Barcelona’s first team, so he would likely be eased into action at Old Trafford.
United are looking to upgrade their attack though, so it is possible that manager Louis van Gaal may see first-team potential in him.
The Red Devils have already lost veteran striker Robin van Persie to Fenerbahce, and Wayne Rooney may not have many high-quality years left in him as he approaches his 30th birthday.
United have already strengthened with the additions of Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin this summer.
