Manchester United are on the verge of signing experienced goalkeeper Sergio Romero, according to The Metro.
The Red Devils are seemingly bracing themselves for the potential loss of David de Gea, and they are also planning to part ways with Victor Valdes.
Free agent Romero still has yet to sign with another club since leaving Sampdoria at the end of last season.
The 28-year-old goalie recently participated in the 2015 Copa America tournament, as he helped lead Argentina to the Copa America final.
However, his team fell short as Chile were crowned the champions.
It is still unknown whether Romero will become the Red Devils’ starter, as De Gea still has yet to receive an official offer from Real Madrid.
However, the Spanish international is keen to return to his home country and play in Bernabeu.
Romero has been capped 62 times by Argentina at senior international level.
