Manchester United will make a final attempt to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale this week, according to reports.
Bale has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, and ESPNFC reports the Red Devils will use David de Gea as leverage in a deal to bring the Welshman back to the Premier League.
United have been adamant they will not sell De Gea unless the Spanish club match its reported asking price of £35m, but Real Madrid have so far baulked at the Premier League club’s demands.
Real Madrid are understood to be desperate to sign the Spanish gloveman, and it could allow for significant room for negotiation over Bale.
According to Daily Star, Bale is currently training away from teammates after suffering a toe injury but is understood to be fit enough to complete running drills.
Bale is yet to win over the Real Madrid faithful and was used as a scapegoat by both fans and media in Spain after club went trophyless last season.
