Bayern Munich superstar Thomas Muller is reportedly eager to join Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils have been linked with a strong interest in the German as part of their hunt for a striker.
The Daily Express understands that United have had two bids rejected for the World Cup winner – the last one in the region of £60m – but will not give up their pursuit and could go as high as £70m.
And that is because Muller, enticed by the Premier League and the prospect of a big pay rise, is keen to follow former Bayern teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford.
Munich manager Pep Guardiola would apparently be willing to sell the 25-year-old, with whom he has had several rows, but chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is determined to keep him.
Muller scored twice as Bayern began their Bundesliga title defence with a 5-0 thrashing of Hamburg on Friday night, and has bagged 122 times in 306 games in total for the German giants.
