Manchester United added youth to their squad during the summer by signing winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.
According to Squawka, the transfer fee for the 21-year-old has been revealed. Depay was sold to the Red Devils for £19m.
This looks like a bargain at this point, as Depay has scored three goals in Champions League matches although he has yet to hit the back of the net in Premier League.
It was initially reported that Man United had signed Depay for £27m, but the true fee has since been revealed.
Depay most recently gave Man United bang for their buck when he scored a goal against PSV, although the Red Devils lost that game, 2-1.
They have reportedly signed midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger on a bargain deal too, as he was sold by Bayern Munich for £6.5m.
Ironically, the Red Devils’ most expensive signing was 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial, who was signed for £36m and may see his transfer fee increase with the inclusion of bonuses and add-ons.
It remains to be seen whether Depay can continue to be the bargain that he has looked like so far.
The return of injured striker and captain Wayne Rooney would undoubtedly benefit his development.
