Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that reported Manchester United target Thomas Muller is not for sale at any price.
The German World Cup winner is believed to be on Louis van Gaal’s radar as the United manager seeks to add a world-class forward to his squad.
But Rummenigge has stressed that Bayern would be crazy to sell Muller, who has scored 71 goals in 167 Bundesliga games since making his debut in 2008.
“There are some players who just don’t have any price tag,” Sky Sports quotes Rummenigge as saying.
“We would be out of our minds to sell Muller.”
The Red Devils have allowed Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao to leave this summer, and recent reports from Germany claimed that they have tabled a £70.5m bid for Muller.
United have already lured one of Bayern’s biggest stars – Bastian Schweinsteiger – to Old Trafford during the process of spending £79m on four new players in this transfer window.
