Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos is reportedly expected to sign a new contract with the Spanish giants on Thursday.
Ramos has been heavily linked with a move to Man United all summer, amid speculation that he wasn’t happy with his situation in the Spanish capital.

However, more recently, it has been suggested that he has decided that he will remain with the La Liga giants and sign a new deal.
That in turn ended claims that the two European clubs would do business together in a deal also involving David De Gea, but the goalkeeper could still return to Spain before the end of the month after being dropped from Louis Van Gaal’s squad for the opening day of the season.
Nevertheless, according to ESPN, Ramos will sign his new contract on Thursday as he prepares to put pen to paper on a new five-year deal which will include a wage rise from €6m to €9m per annum.
The 29-year-old has been a crucial part of the club for a number of years, helping Carlo Ancelotti lead the side to an historic Champions League triumph the season before last.
It is expected that Rafa Benitez will continue to rely heavily on him in his first season in charge, with the new deal ultimately ending speculation about the defender’s future.
