As preseason friendlies go, this is pretty special…
Thirteen-time Premier League winners Manchester United take on European champions in Santa Clara tonight.
The game is in the International Champions Cup – a tournament which United won last year.
Barcelona go into the contest as heavy favourites. The Catalan giants can be backed at 6/5 to win inside 90 minutes, while United are available at 23/10.
United are expected to start with David de Gea in goal, despite constant transfer talk linking him with Real Madrid.

One player who won’t feature is midfielder Angel Di Maria, who is close to completing a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Both sides boast a 100% record in the ICC so far this season. United have recorded 1-0 and 3-1 wins over Club America and San Jose Earthquakes respectively, while Barca beat LA Galaxy in their only game to date.
Former United defender Gerard Pique is expected to play for Barca, while new signing Arda Turan could also feature, despite being unavailable for competitive games until January.
United’s recent record against Barca isn’t great. The last two meetings between the sides have come in Champions League finals, with the La Liga side winning 2-0 in 2009 and 3-1 in 2011.
