Bayern begin talks with Raheem Sterling’s agent
German magazine Kicker reported this morning that Schweinsteiger’s importance in Munich has been falling recently, hinting to the idea that the Bundesliga champions are willing to sell him.
The 30-year-old World Cup winner is still under contract with Bayern until 2016. Kicker reported that nothing is happening on the contract front and the World Cup winner is likely to be available as a result.
United manager Louis van Gaal is ready to ‘lure the vice-captain of Bayern’, despite his declining form this term.
Schweinsteiger played in only 27 of the 51 Bayern games this campaign. Although most of his absence was due to injury, his decrease in playing time is noticeable. He’s tallied four goals and eight assists so far – but he’d add the much needed experience and leadership qualities to the middle of Bayern’s midfield.
What’s more – van Gaal managed him during his own stint in Germany – and the pair enjoyed a fruitful title winning relationship.
