Manchester United transfer news
Van Gaal is under increasing pressure following United’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Arsenal on Monday. Only a top four place is now likely to save him from the sack, as the Red Devils eye up a potential replacement.
Liverpool are closing the gap on United in fourth place, while the supporters are growing increasingly resentful of their team’s uninspiring style of play.
Like Van Gaal, Ancelotti is also under pressure, after a difficult run of results in the Spanish capital. He could be open to a return to England, having managed Chelsea and led them to the Premier League title in the past.
