Man United star David De Gea has reportedly insisted that he was ready to play in the season opener against Tottenham on Saturday.
De Gea was left out of the squad for the 1-0 win, with Louis Van Gaal citing his lack of focus amid speculation of a move to Real Madrid being the reason for his decision to leave him out.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard has made it known that he has trained ‘perfectly well’ and is intent on continuing his career at Old Trafford.
Sergio Romero stepped in to replace him on Saturday, with the Argentinian producing an overall solid display despite some nervy moments due to miscommunication with his defenders.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether or not he keeps his spot ahead of the trip to face Aston Villa on Friday night with De Gea reportedly preparing to feature.
Van Gaal suggested that he wouldn’t pick the former Atletico Madrid ace until the end of the transfer window when he knows that his future for this season at least is secured.
However, he may be under increasing pressure to bring him back into the fold, unless he is intent on selling him before the window closes.
