It wasn’t good news for United fans, as he believes that neither will be leaving their respective clubs any time soon, and United haven’t even made an official bid for either anyway.
“This summer Manchester United were willing to pay a huge amount for Bale but learnt quickly he was not going anywhere,” he said in a Sky Sports Q&A.
“They have not bid for Cristiano (even though they have always said they have the finances for it) or Neymar. Fascinating stuff what is behind the Neymar rumours…”
Balague added that Barcelona have insisted that there has been no offer for Neymar, but have made it clear that they are not interested in selling the Brazilian ace.
The Spaniard believes that it all revolves around the winger wanting a new lucrative deal with the Catalan giants, and he will ultimately end up staying with the club.
Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his plans of making Bale a central figure of his team moving forward.
