The 22-year-old is currently starring in a stunning breakthrough campaign for the Rome-based giants, and has subsequently caught the attention of United boss Louis Van Gaal, who has sent his scouts to check him out on numerous occasions.
However, with Van Gaal likely to embark on another big spending spree over the summer, he is aware that he cannot sign players for the sake of it, and will therefore only lodge a bid should £59.7million record signing Angel Di Maria move on to make way.
Anderson is under contract with the Biancocelste until 2020, and are under no pressure to sell. That means United will either have to spend a considerable amount of their transfer budget on him or actively look to sell the Argentine winger.
