Man United v Newcastle preview: De Gea still out, transfer fail keeps Rooney in, red card likely
GK: Sergio Romero
With David De Gea’s future still up in the air, Romero will continue between the posts and will hope to pick up a third consecutive clean sheet of the Premier League season.
DF: Matteo Darmian
The Italian is making the right-back position his own after suggestions that Antonio Valencia would be first choice. However, his impressive start at the club will ensure he keeps his place.
DF: Chris Smalling
It’s a big season for Smalling, and he hasn’t disappointed as of yet with a series of solid performances to keep United looking impressive at the back.
DF: Daley Blind
Marcos Rojo is still on the outside looking in and that’s partly down to Blind’s start to the campaign. Back the Dutchman to keep his place.
DF: Luke Shaw
With the injury woes seemingly behind him, Shaw will look to keep up United’s record of this quartet playing every single minute of competitive action so far this season.
