David de Gea is expected to travel with Manchester United on their pre-season tour to America today after Real Madrid failed to submit a bid for the goalkeeper.
Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal reportedly set De Gea’s agent a 24-hour deadline to resolve his future ahead of United’s trip to the United States.
The Dutchman wanted only players who will be at the club next season to be on the plane, and De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past few months.
But Sky Sports reports that the La Liga giants have not yet made an offer for the 24-year-old stopper, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of next season.
It is thought that United would be willing to sell the Spaniard, PFA Player of the Year runner-up last term, but only if Madrid defender Sergio Ramos was included as part of the deal.
Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger will also travel with United after completing their moves from Southampton and Bayern Munich respectively later this afternoon.
