Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is desperate to add goals to his team ahead of the 2015-16 season.
The Red Devils finished fourth in the Premier League last term, and they scored 11 fewer goals than champions Chelsea, and 21 fewer than local rivals Manchester City.
Captain Wayne Rooney was United’s leading scorer, despite only hitting the net 12 times in the league.
According to the Daily Mail, five top strikers are on Van Gaal’s summer wish-list.
Tottenham Hotspur sensation Harry Kane, PSG star Edinson Cavani, Napoli frontman Gonzalo Higuain, Real Madrid goal-machine Karim Benzema and Bayern Munich talisman Thomas Muller are the five men Van Gaal reportedly has in his sights.

None of these goal-getters will come cheap though.
Kane and Benzema are valued at £50m and £17.8m respectively, while Cavani and Muller are likely to cost £60m each.
Higuain apparently has a release clause in his current contract, but it will cost £62m to activate.
Signing any one of these players would boost United’s title chances significantly, and strike fear into rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
