Rumours suggest that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal may consider making a move for Barcelona’s Jordi Alba.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is understood to have pulled out of the race to sign Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, and may instead concentrate on signing FC Barcelona’s Jordi Alba, according to reports in The Daily Star.
The young Englishman, who also has the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City following him, is touted to be a star of the future. However, Alba’s big-stage experience has made him an ideal alternative for the position, which Evra will vacate next year when his contract expires.
However, Man Utd may have a problem in convincing Alba to move to Old Trafford this summer, as they will not be playing in the UEFA Champions League next term.
With Evra also likely to be the first choice for the left back position next season too, and Barcelona hugely dependent on the 25 year old, it seems pretty optimistic to expect the Red Devils to land the Spaniard this summer.
