The Portugal international spent the season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, and The Independent reports that Inter will offer £7.3m for the 28-year-old to make the switch to the San Siro.
Nani was rumoured to be joining Sporting on a permanent basis, but it now seems he is destined for Italy following interest from Inter boss Roberto Mancini.
With Ashley Young and Angel di Maria filling United’s wide positions, United manager Louis van Gaal seems happy to allow Nani to leave the club despite the player having three years remaining on his deal at Old Trafford.
Nani impressed with Sporting last term, scoring seven goals in 27 appearances to help the club to a third-placed Liga Sagres finish.
Inter have struggled in recent years and Nani could help the Italian side return to its former glories under Mancini.
