Toures dad says birthday issue will be resolved.
Manchester City star Yaya Toure’s father Mory has dismissed suggestions that the 31-year old would leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Ivorian’s dad feels that his son took objection to City not recognising his birthday since he wanted the club to respect the sacrifices he has made to win them trophies, but he also insisted that the issue would be resolved.
“No, he won’t leave,” Toure senior was quoted by the Daily Star.
“And it’s not even my wish that he leaves Manchester City. It’s said that the most wished for changes bring their sadness.
“And I reconfirm that he won’t leave. It [birthday issue] is a situation he didn’t appreciate. And as he’s a boy who doesn’t keep his frustrations to himself, he preferred to express himself.
“But I think it’s a situation which will be resolved.”
Toure has arguably been the Citizens’ best player over the last couple of seasons, and assurances from the Ivorian’s father that the box-to-box midfielder would remain at Eastlands comes as great news for Sky Blues’ fans.
The 31-year-old had earlier cut a rather frustrated figure when he hinted at a move back to Barcelona to finish his playing career, but it seems as though matters have not got out of hand yet and the Premier League will continue to see the magic of the Ivory Coast international next season.
