City want to add another impressive attacker to their roster…
Manchester City will target a move for Serie A Club Udinese’s 19-year-old striker Piotr Zielinski when the January transfer window opens, reports talkSPORT.
The Polish wonderkid made nine appearances for Udinese last term in his breakthrough season, but didn’t manage to find the net in the league. His form for the national side is all the more impressive however – he’s bagged three times in five times for his country, and many top clubs are already sniffing around him.
He has come off the bench twice so far this season, without being able to make too much of an impact – but it is likely that his first-team chances at the Etihad would be more or less zero. City’s roster of strikers includes Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko (who both scored in City’s opening day Champions League win on Tuesday night) and new signings Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic.
City have had a poor record of developing youngsters in recent years, ever since they received the influx of money from the new owners – so it would be a massive surprise if Zielinski did eventually manage to break through into the first-team if he did move to the Premier League contenders.
