Khedira looks almost certain to leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the January transfer window after failing to agree an extension to his current contract – which expires at the end of this season.
As a result of that Madrid are keen to at least make some money from the Germany international rather than losing him on a free next summer.
There is great interest from the Premier League in the 27-year-old, with City completing a list of interested parties that would widely be considered to be the five “biggest” teams in the entire division.
Khedira joined Los Blancos from Stuttgart back in 2010 and has since won La Liga, the Copa del Rey twice and the Champions League, as well as the World Cup in 2014 with the German national team.
