Club are already making recruitment plans for next season.
New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will make skilful Sevilla midfield player Jesus Navas his first signing after replacing the recently departed Roberto Mancini at Eastlands, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The popular Italian was relieved of his duties on Monday night after four years in charge of the mega-rich Premier League club and it is expected that experienced Malaga boss Pellegrini will replace Mancini in the City dug-out later this week.
And if that is the case, then the Chilean is understood to want to bring Spain international Navas with him to England, with the winger currently under contract to Sevilla until 30 June 2015.
Navas, 27, has been with the Liga outfit his whole career after joining them in 2003, during which time he has proved to be one of the most consistent and eye-catching wide men in Spain, winning 23 caps for the world and European champions in the process after making his La Roja debut in 2009.
